Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) is a suite of tools and services for monitoring and managing system-level performance.

License Information

PCP installations may be in a collector configuration or a monitor configuration or both.

Collector configurations are typically used for servers. PCP collector configurations provide limited functionality without a license, but to enable the full feature set a Performance Co-Pilot Collector (pcpcol) license is required.

Monitor configurations typically are used for a workstation that will be monitoring the performance of one or more systems with a PCP collector configuration. Monitor configurations require a Performance Co-Pilot Monitor (pcpmon) license.

PCP licenses are not pre-installed for this product distribution.

To find out what licenses are on your system, run the License Manager. Log into the system and from a shell window enter one of these two commands.

If you have an X server and $DISPLAY is set appropriately:

    $ /usr/etc/LicenseManager

Otherwise:

    $ /usr/pcp/bin/pmbrand -l
